The Ecumenical Patriarchate promotes the expansion of the Christian faith and Orthodox doctrine, and the Ecumenical Patriarchs are involved in ecumenism and interfaith dialogue, charitable work, and the defense of Orthodox Christian traditions. 세계 총대주교청은 기독교 신앙을 전파하고 동방 정교회 교리를 수호한다. 그리고 세계 총대주교들은 교회 일치 운동 과 종교 간 대화, 구호 활동, 정교회 전통 수호에 관여한다.
The problem is a dialogue which alters theology as revelation of truth, and the Church as the unique Body of Christ, and pastoral care as the practice of the Church which leads to deification. The problem of the so-called Ecumenism lies on these points. “미사는 그리스도에게 큰 모욕을 가하고, 그의 십자가를 매장하고 은폐하며, 그의 죽으심을 사람들이 잊어버리게 만들고, 그 죽으심에 대한 기억을 우리에게 전하는 성찬의 힘을 약화시키며 소멸시킨다.” 미사는 성경에 없으며 원시교회에도 없었다.
