13 On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to give attention to the words of the Law. 이튿날 사제들과 레위인들과 일반 백성 전부를 대표한 각 가문의 어른들이 선비 에즈라에게 모여 와서 법전에 기록되어 있는 말씀을 공부 하다가,
13 Now on the second day the heads of the fathers' houses of all the people, with the priests and Levites, were gathered to Ezra the scribe, in order to understand the words of the Law. 이튿날 사제들과 레위인들과 일반 백성 전부를 대표한 각 가문의 어른들이 선비 에즈라에게 모여 와서 법전에 기록되어 있는 말씀을 공부 하다가,
Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded Israel. 1 이스라엘 백성은 각기 저희의 성읍에서 살고 있다가 칠월이 되자 일제히 수문 앞 광장에 모여 와서 선비 에즈라에게 청하였다.
Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam. 선비 에즈라는 특별히 만든 나무 단 위에 올라 가 섰고, 그 오른쪽에는 마띠디야, 세마, 아나야, 우리야, 힐키야, 마아세야가, 왼쪽에는 브다야, 미사엘, 말기야, 하숨, 하스바따나, 즈가리야, 므술람이 섰다.
